Golden Brown Sugar Cookies

| 3 | cups flour |
| 1 | teaspoon baking powder |
| ½ | teaspoon baking soda |
| ¾ | teaspoon salt |
| ½ | cup unsalted butter, soft |
| ½ | cup shortening |
| 1 ½ | cups granulated sugar |
| ½ | cup light brown sugar, packed |
| 2 | eggs |
| 2 | teaspoons vanilla |
In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, sodan and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl of an electric mixer, cream butter, shortening and sugars until mixture is light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until thoroughly blended.
Stir flour mixture into creamed mixture to form a soft dough. Drop small teaspoons of cookie dough onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven 8-10 minutes until cookies are puffy and golden brown.
Remove cookies from oven. Sprinkle with sugar; then cool 30 seconds on cookie sheet. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.
Recipe makes 5-6 dozen 3" cookies.
