Shirred Eggs With Sausage And Gruyere

¼pound maple bulk sausage, cooked and crumbled
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
4tablespoons heavy cream
¼cup grated gruyere cheese

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Spray 2 ramekins with nonstick vegetable cooking spray. Spoon cooked sausage into bottoms of ramekins. Crack egg into a small bowl; then carefully slip egg on top of sausage. Repeat with other ramekin. Season with salt and pepper.

Bake eggs 10 minutes. Spoon 2 tablespoons cream over each egg and sprinkle evenly with grated cheese. Continue baking eggs 5-8 additional minutes until egg is set and cheese is melted.

Recipe makes 2 servings.
